About

A note from the artist:

I believe in art.  I believe in the importance of having art in our lives. I also believe that this notion is innate and universal.  The concept that only some have talent is an unfortunate construct of society.  Every child is an artist, but the idea that this has value is often drummed out of us so quickly, that by adolescence, it's not even a shade of memory.  As a result, we deny our wonderful creative intuitions and they are soon forgotton. For whatever reason, that didn't happen to me. I've never wanted to be anything else.

I hold a degree in Fine Art from the University of Connecticut, a fact I include because people tend to ask about it – to me, it’s mostly unrelated to the work.  Art is very simple to me.  You see, you like.  You see, you don't like.  You see, you feel.  You see, you don't feel.  It's a very personal conversation between art and viewer.

I've spent a good part of my professional life in what can be loosely interpreted as commercial art – and I've made some pretty cool stuff – but it’s what happens in my painting studio that feeds my soul.  When I paint, I sing, and dance...and throw things.  I feel more alive; it's visceral, it feels important.

My goal is for that intimate relevance to be conveyed to someone else through my canvases, even if it's just a glimmer...a spark of a feeling...a momentary unity of vision.  That is the connection of friendship, of fellowship, of culture, of humanity.
